Acacia Underwear pattern

I have made Acacia panties with the scraps from t-shirt and pajama projects for many years. And I've been asked to teach a class with the Atlantic Sewing Guild this year. So, I'm DELIGHTED to find that you also have the Acacia Curve and the Mini Acacia patterns. Hurray!

This pattern was super easy to follow! I’ve officially replaced all my store bought undies with ones that fit me PERFECTLY! The sew along video was great too!

Saved me from my too small high-waisted undies in my second trimester of pregnancy. The Video is super clear. They fit wonderfully on my behind. I already made 4 pairs!

In my quest to use the smaller pieces in my stash, I made three pair of these great undies. I increased the rises by 1/2”, 1” and 1.5” to evaluate the possibilities. I had only to buy fold-over elastic. Next, I spotted a couple of rarely-worn t-shirts taking up space in my drawer. Turns out two undies can be eked out of a t-shirt! What a win! Photo is of the original three.

I've made three pair so far, raising the rises by 1/2", 1", and 1.5", each of which worked out just fine. They're quick, easy and fun to make, and comfortable to wear. Next up: cannibalizing a t-shirt, makes two pair perfectly!

Wonderful pattern for a pair of everyday undies. Includes 3 different elastic options and clear instructions. From my experience with this pattern, I would buy Megan Nielsen patterns.

I made 10 pairs and haven't worn any other panties since.

Love this pattern. Very easy to make and super cute! I’m never shopping for undies ever again! I’ve made a few and all my family loved them. The sizing was on point as long as you buy the right stretchy fabric!

The pattern was clear as was the tutorial.

Fits well and is comfortable. The next one I make will probably be less curved in the back!

So so happy with this simple but well thought out pattern. I've tried a couple of other patterns which were okay but this one really gives results as it clearly explains how to sew 3 different types of elastic. Wonderful.

Got this pattern for free by signing up to the newsletter. Absolutely brilliant. I made the first pair to try (never made underwear before) and they were great but I wanted a bit more tummy coverage so added an inch to front and back. Now a perfect fit. First 2 pairs were made with scraps then I bought 1m of bamboo fabric (colour was Sand Beige) and have made 1 pair so far and another 5 pairs cut out! Thank you so much for such an amazing pattern.

The acacia undies fit me super well and were easy to sew. Perfect for my first pair of undies: especially since the pattern includes elastic length recommendations. A great scrap-buster pattern. Excited to make more!

Easy to follow and comfortable to wear, at least.... it fits to my body shape. With a little practice, I gonna have nice and comfi slips . It 's a great stash buster.

Just finished my first test pair. They fit perfectly and very comfortable.

This pattern was on a list of recommendations for a @virtualsewingroom sewalong and I decided on these after seeing so many glowing 5* reviews. And now I understand why. These are a great fit and absolutely true to the sizing chart. Great coverage, no VPL (even over my generous bottom) and for me at least, the perfect rise at a couple of inches below my tummy button. I never imagined I'd be wearing my own handmade pants, but I've made five pairs of these now and I love them all. Forget scrap-busting... I'm shopping for fabric to make myself some more. My needlework leaves a bit to be desired (I certainly wouldn't want to have a car accident in them) but practice makes progress and they are easily repairable as and when necessary - which is more than can be said for some of the cheap, production-line efforts that have ended up going in the bin. My next project is to see if it's possible to make period pants using this pattern and some appropriate materials. The best pants are the ones you don't even know you're wearing.

This pattern was my Christmas challenge 2023.
Although I have sewn in all sorts of fabrics for more than 60 years I am less experienced with stretch jersey.
The pattern made up too baggy with fabric from unloved tshirt but was absolutely perfect with left overs from another project. The difference being in the fabric stretch. The left over fabric is cotton with 8% lycra and a perfect match to the given stretch example. Quite different from British Marks and Spencer undies. This has been successful, enjoyable project that will be repeated.

This is an absolute great find. The pattern is true to size, accurate, and even has clear instructions. It was so easy and fun that I just keep making more!
