About

Hi I'm Megan Nielsen and I make sewing patterns for contemporary wardrobe essentials in sizes 0-30.

I design my patterns with real people in mind and am passionate about creating every day wearable pieces that work with your lifestyle, not against it.

My goal is to make sewing your own stylish wardrobe enjoyable and easy, and I'm here to help!

Quality

Megan Nielsen patterns are professionally drafted to industry standards and I am uncompromising on quality. Every design is thoroughly tested internally and externally by normal people who love to sew (like you!).

My paper patterns come in a beautiful sturdy envelope and are printed on high quality tissue paper, accompanied by an easy to use instruction booklet to guide you through every stage of construction with clear diagrams and simple language.

My digital patterns include beautiful print at home instructions in US letter and A4 size, print at home pattern tiles in US letter and A4 size and copy shop print files in US 36x48” and A0 size. As of 2020 I have begun adding size layering to my patterns.

If you’re new to my brand I encourage you to try my free patterns which are available to newsletter subscribers.

Free resources and amazing support

My blog is a companion to my brand and is a wonderful resource full of sewing tutorials, tips, advice and styling ideas. All of my sewing patterns are accompanied by free in-depth sewing tutorials on my blog, full of clear photographs and easy to understand instructions to guide you through every stage of constructing your garment. I want you to get the most of your pattern possible and include bonus pattern variation tutorials and pattern alteration advice in my sewalongs.

This is not a big impersonal business, I care about your personal sewing journey and believe in providing amazing customer service. I am always here to help in any way I can, so please feel free to send me an email at hello@megannielsen.com if you have any questions about my patterns.

Ethos & Giving Back

I believe that businesses have an obligation to behave ethically and can be a physical conduit for change in the world. My values are kindness, integrity and generosity and I am committed to using our brand to support humanitarian causes.

I donate a portion of all profits to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, which provides vital assistance to refugees seeking asylum in Australia, and World Vision who have numerous worldwide programs to tackle poverty and humanitarian issues.

Community

I love being a part of the sewing community and feel so blessed to be able to connect with other people who love to sew, like you! You can connect with me on my BlogInstagramYoutubeFacebook, and Pinterest
