Fantastic coat pattern!

I made the Hovea Jacket & Coat Pattern (cropped jacket) out of a quilt and it turned out great. The pattern is very easy to follow. I didn't have any problem with the instructions and I am a beginner sewer for clothes. I'll purchase more of her patterns!

Modern and well thought-out pattern

I decided to make the Hovea cropped jacket version out of a store-bought quilted bedspread. The instructions are spot-on and the quality of the pattern, perfect. I am very pleased with the outcome, and so is my daughter.

Such a versatile pattern

I made the short version of Hovea for summer. I used Liberty Tana lawn fabrics and quilted them together myself. I wanted the jacket to be reversible so I did lap and fell seams on the shoulders and to join the arms on, and I bound the underarm sleeves, plus all the edges with bias binding which I made. I found this so rewarding to make. For my next Hovea, I plan to make the long length in a boiled wool for winter.

Amazing & Versatile Jacket Pattern!

Such a well written pattern and the shape is so versatile it fits so many body types. Pattern was easy to print and follow! Being reversible is such a win because I have two looks for the work of one jacket! Loved making it and wearing my creation. Already shopping for fabric for a second jacket! Thank you Megan!!!

So easy and fun to make. I will be making more for all of my female relatives to enjoy. I added an inside pocket for phone and small wallet.

Perfect everyday jacket

I really enjoyed making the Hovea jacket. I made view E in cotton herringbone twill with a cotton lawn lining. I found reading the instructions completely before starting really helped because with all the style options there is a bit of skipping around.

I’m very pleased with the fit and my choice of fabric. I like the versatility of the pattern and I plan to make one of the quilted styles soon.

Terrific Pattern!

The pattern was great and I found the sew along super helpful. I made view A lined version. I made the jacket out of a thrifted blanket. After making a muslin I chose to size up one because I knew the blanket would be bulky plus adding the lining. I loved all of the different views and am currently working on a cropped version.

Beautiful and versatile pattern

Another great pattern. I made a size 10 - View B - with no modifications.

This pattern is easy to make. I absolutely love that you can get many different looks depending on fabric choice and the difference views.

Because my fabric is a light cotton this feels more like a sweater, which is perfect for FL weather. I used a thrifted 100% bed cover.

For reference, my measurements: Bust 39, Hip 40

Reversible, Free Motion Quilted, Cropped Version

My first try at doing a reversible jacket, and also my first attempt at "french" seams. Used my own surface pattern designs. Free motioned quilting was done by me on the turquoise side. Luckily my quilting blends well on the orange sunflower side. Very pleased with result. I did a size 10. probably should have done a size 8. However, the larger size works well for adding layers underneath. Very comfy for wearing indoors. Both sides are made from cotton sateen, batting is 80/20 cotton poly. I am not a very experienced garment sewer, so even though the directions were quite detailed and clear, it was a bit awkward navigating the instructions as they were for so many different options.

Hovea Quilted Coat - Great pattern and instructions

This is the second coat I’ve made. I made this one fully reversible. I created the quilt blocks to fit the coat pattern.

loved this well drafted jacket

I am sad to say this pattern was in my pile a long time !! why oh why did I not make it sooner ? I chose view E with lining , I only had to shorten the sleeves rest as drafted It went together well i had never fully lined a jacket so this was new the extra details on website for stages were very helpful I love how it turned out but i would change pockets for deeper ones

Quilt coat

Love all the pattern options and the many blog tips were so helpful! Easy to follow and make! I made mine reversible with scraps on one side and grey with a quilt block pattern on the other. I went with the larger measurement for my size just in case even though it did say it fits large. So it ended up a little big but I expected that. I’m excited to try making another version soon!
