Rowan bodysuit and tee pattern

I have needed another tshirt basic and this one turned out fabulous on the first try. It's perfectly fitted and I love the high neckline and the sleeve length. I made size 2 graded to 4 based on my measurements

I've made 2 pieces so far, one crew neck crop top and a crew neck bodysuit.
The crop top I made a straight size 12 as my bust is in-between 12-14, but it felt a bit too restrictive in the shoulder seam (used a triple straight stitch and serger) and it was too loose on the waist.
Bodysuit I did a 14-10-16 blend and it fits wonderfully, shoulder seam is more comfortable now.
The placement of the bodysuit connection though? DO NOT LIKE. Way too far back, feels impossible to close the snaps, will be moving it forward in new pieces.

The neckline and shoulders on my bodysuit fit me just right. The instructions are clear and it sews up quickly! My only wish is for a proper projector file. Please excuse my attempt at being Beyoncé.

This is the base layer pattern I’ve been dreaming of. It’s super simple and flexible — I made the mock neck version, then hacked a second version into a scoop neck. Looking forward to making many, many more.

I’d say the recommended garment size for your body is on the fitted side. This was my first time sewing with knits, so I didn’t have a feel for how much negative ease I’d prefer yet and just went with the size chart recommendation. Not bad, just a note for choosing your size!

This one is a winner! An excellent pattern with clear instructions and handy tips. I did the bodysuit, view F in a silky bamboo knit from Knitwit in Nedlands, WA. I love the cut, which contours the body and sits comfortably around the legs. It’s a quick project, easily done in a day. Will definitely try other versions of this pattern. My only question is around the recommended quantity of fabric required for the project. I have so much leftover that I still have enough to make a short sleeve tee.

Like buying 5 patterns for the price 1. I sewed a v neck jersey body and a bamboo rib fabric turtle neck, they look so different. The only common point is they fitted so well on the 1st trial. Highly recommend this pattern.

I’ve made the top version in a cotton jersey so far and it was a straightforward make. The clear instructions are great and even the neck which I usually hate doing in jersey was easy. Once you have your pattern cut to size I think you could whip one up in an hour or so. (The version I’ve shown is a size too small on me as I made it for someone else but you get the idea) I’m now attempting the tiered dress hack on the MN blog.

Made a Rowan Shirt and I love this - fits so good

Instructions are easy to follow, sizing is perfect. I have already made three tshirts and I will definitely make some more. Rowan is not the first pattern by Megan Nielsen that I buy, and it would be hard to choose my favorite one, though, because from all of them, I obtained wearable and nice clothes. Sewalongs are totally useful too. I appreciate your hard work in order to make our sewing easier. Thank you! ❤️

I needed a bodysuit to wear underneath my Sew Liberated Otis Overalls and knew I’d be in good hands with a Megan Nielsen pattern. I swear by her undies and swimwear - they are so comfortable with such great bum coverage and leg shape. The Rowan bodysuit didn’t disappoint - I made a sleeveless size 8 top graded to a size 12 bottom (the modular pattern made the grading so easy). To finished the sleeves I made bands a little thinner and a little longer than the crew neck band. It was simple to sew with good instructions and it fits well. Thanks!

The Rowan is a great t shirt basic pattern with a bodysuit option. It is easy to sew and fits well.

Fantastic pattern with so many options and ‘hacks’ to make it interesting and versatile.

Have recieved the pattern and printed and cut out, ready to go. There are a few other projects ahead of this one but I cannot wait to make it!! As it is summer in Australia and very hot, I probably won’t get to wear it until April/May anyway. Thank you for all you do, to keep us looking stylish and confident with our makes.

This was a fairly simple pattern to follow and the sizing chart was great! I was between a 12 and a 14, so I sized up because I’m also not used to 1/4 inch seam allowance, and everything worked out great. Excited to try the sleeveless hack on the blog— this will definitely be a staple in my wardrobe!

This was my first Megan Nielsen pattern and the directions were the best of any pattern I’ve every used! Easy to understand and I didn’t have to adjust the pattern at all to fit my body. Will be getting lots more patterns!

Lovely pattern with super clear instructions. I will be making the Rowan again (and again!) trying a different size and different knits and different versions to see if I can get an even better fit and finish! Thank you so much!

I’ve just started reviewing the pattern, but found it really clearly written and easy to follow. I’m excited to make the Rowan turtleneck top using a stretchy purple velvet material from Blackbird fabrics!!

Quick and easy make!

I made a size 8 for my youngest daughter as a wearable toile for her wedding outfit. We are both very pleased with the result and as soon as I‘ve washed the fabric I‘ll get started on the real thing which will be viscose/bamboo jersey doubled with stretch lace. No changes or adjustments to the pattern. Great fit. And I‘ll be making one (or more) for myself too.

I had never sewn with stretch material before, but this pattern and the blog posts were amazing! I’ve already made two bodysuits with different necklines and I know this is going to be a staple in my wardrobe. Highly recommend!

This pattern is worth the money! I am able to make so many variations and hacks. Very easy and quick to make.
