Ash Jeans (4 in 1!) pattern

The Ash Jeans are my very first jeans make, despite having sewn for many years. The instructions were good and the sewalong helped in places. I used a stretch denim with about 25% stretch, and made a slim leg in a size 12, but they are a little snug, but I believe they should stretch out a bit after a few wash and wears. Very pleased with the make and will probably try the wide leg next time.

I purchased this pattern in order to add to my skill set. The Ash Jeans pattern instructions were very easy to follow. I used stretchy jean fabric in making size 4. I used my serger to finish the seams, I used top stitch thread on my pair. First time sewing the front fly as well as adding rivets and all went smoothly. These jeans feel and look just as nice as retail jeans! I plan to make these again.

It was a big challenge but the instructions were great and I managed to sew in one day. So comfy!

I made view D wide leg in a size 4, My vision was a more dressy look jean. I also added a center crease down front of leg to add to the “dressy” look. These fit really well. Usual alterations for me including flat and low seat. Used 5/8” seams throughout. The zipper installation was magic! Love it! Added interfacing to hem and turned up 3/4”. The interfacing was to add a little more weight to the hem. I am 5’3” and this as the full length of the pattern. I usually wear a low waisted and fitted leg pant, but these are very comfortable and I am eager to try the slim leg view.

Great pattern and instructions. Had a bit of trouble with waist band and yoke assembly, but fiddled with it and worked it out. I will be sewing my 4th pair this spring 2022. Love the fit and I can adjust to my 37 inch inseam easily! I have made skinny and straight leg, next is wide leg bell bottom! Thank you for this great pattern!

I am so excited about these jeans. I just finished putting the front pockets in. At first I couldn’t figure out the directions for the front pockets. I woke up in the middle of the night as I couldn’t sleep thinking about the pockets. I got up and tried again and voilà it came together. The rest will be a breeze. I will make another pair as soon as these are done. I also ordered the Dawn Jeans pattern. I may try them next. I just love making them. It was a challenge that I was able to meet and that is so exciting. I love the booklet and the computer instructions. I love the zipper kit. Thank you so much!!! 💛🌻💙

I am putting together a pair of Ash Jeans in stretch cotton corduroy and just basted them together to do a fit test and they are so nice. i really like the shaping and they are coming together easily. i did raise the rise by 1/2 inch according to the blog tutorial. These are going to be my new favorite trousers, I’m sure of it.

This pattern is very well designed with great instructions and extra tips for each step. There are many options for leg width and loved the fact that they only needed minor adjustments to the pattern to fit perfectly. I will definitely be making another pair in a different fabric for fall. Possibly a wide leg option.

I cannot get over how amazing this pattern is. I graded between sizes which is covered in a blog post and it worked! They’re the most perfect fitting jeans I’ve ever own and soooo comfortable. The instructions are so clearly written that this could be your first pair of fitted pants and you’d be able to sew them. So happy I gave them a try and I’ll be making more for sure.

I love 4-in-1 patterns like Ash because I can choose which style(s) I'm most interested in without having to do too much pattern hacking. Also, the instructions are easy to read and follow to make a fabulous pair of jeans.

I got the Ash Jeans pattern as part of a Guthrie and Ghana kit. I’d never sewn a pair of jeans or trousers before so I don’t know what I was thinking. I do like a challenge though and I really enjoyed it. I had to alter the rise but there are clear instructions on the Megan Nielsen website along with numerous other tips, tutorials, inspiration and ideas for making your jeans perfect for you. I’m so pleased with my new jeans and I’m looking forward to making more.

This was my very first attempt at jeans and I was a little daunted at first. However with the help of the really excellent sew-along blog and videos I actually managed to produce a well fitting comfortable and professional looking pair of jeans which I would wear anywhere. The pattern is true to size and I only had to make a small flat seat adjustment to improve the fit on

I made the wide legged pair, with an adjustment for a larger waist but would try another one of the pattern options for my next pair.

Thank you for helping me to achieve what was a long held ambition, this was a project that I had been putting off, as I didn't think I had the skills. It has been a huge confidence boost to my sewing abilities.

These jeans were such a great fit, I've already ordered fabric to make another pair. It was easy to modify as I went along, and I only needed minor adjustments. The topstitching detail and rivets are something I really appreciate. It gives a professional finish to the end product that is lacking in other patterns I've tried.

The jeans is not finished yet, but had the first try on yesterday and it fits perfectly. I will use this pattern for several jeans in the future
