Matilda dress pattern

Very easy to follow excellent instructions and the option of the online tutorial is fantastic

Challenging sew for me but found instructions in booklet and online very helpful. I love the result.

The dress is flattering with many options to customize. I made size 8, and added .25 inch on side seams for both bodice and skirt. Instructions are very clear and sew along is very helpful. Instead of buttons, I liked better concealed closure look so I used sew in snaps. Next time I will adjust pattern so right placket will have inside strip so the button holes will be invisible from the outside. My next Matilda will be solid, linen in raspberry.

Great pattern and very cute finished result, lots of pieces which seems overwhelming but the instructions are very clear and step by step it came together. Would recommend.

This is an excellent pattern with clear and detailed instructions, and sizing is spot on. Had a lot of fun making it and will definitely make again.

I love the Matilda dress! I adore the details of this pattern. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. It fitted my hourglass figure straight from the packet, no adjustments required. Only change I made was a pointed collar instead of rounded and took about 3 inches off the hem. Will definitely make this again.

Perfect fit I made using end garment measurement with material which had slightly less stretch than recommended I made view B and added short sleeves. It is a perfect fit and a very quick sew with excellent instructions I will definitely make this often

I ordered the printed pattern in the smaller size, even though I need the larger size and also ordered the PDF. I have not used either yet, but I found the instructions for both printed and PDF clear and easy to understand. I would have preferred the option to get the larger size grouping as a printed pattern. I am happy I found your patterns, and liked this one very much. I am not sure the rest of the current selection of patterns would get me to buy another pattern. I will continue to check in for new styles. I think there is a real market for large size patterns, and for styles that are more than just simple shapes. I think you could continue to build on the quality you’ve already established with a few new styles. Hope this feedback helps.

Great instructions. Pieces go together well. I measured and chose the M size. It was a little to big in the bodice, but has been easy to alter. Know next time to make the small. Easy to do variations on collar and sleeve… I chose to leave off the sleeve band and treat with bias instead. Overall very nice drafted and written pattern. Still have the button placket to do, but will upload a photo when done.

I enjoyed using the Matilda pattern, my first from Megan Nielsen.
I had it printed off in large format at Officeworks - better for me than managing lots of A4 pages. Super easy to follow instructions. I LOVED the addition of optional ways to finish the dress. I made mine sleeveless, with contrasting front placket and collar facings and finished it in time to wear for Christmas. I am so pleased with my creation that I’m already planning to challenge myself with one in a check fabric.

I'm really excited about this pattern - I've enjoyed having a good read through and the instructions are clear and easy to follow, with requirements well laid out. As I'm in the 'planning it' stage and have only just gathered materials it seems a bit early to give it a full five stars - so I'll do an updated review as the project progresses (be warned I'm not quick so this may take me some time - no reflection on the pattern!)

I haven't yet made the dress - which I think is an absolutely beautiful design. I had to snatch it up after wanting to order it for a long time. I now have access to a printer so will soon be making several. Thanks, Megan!

I loved this model, it is a very versatile dress with a very good fitting. The sew along makes it much easier to make, although the instructions are also very clear. I made one for summer with gingham and I'm going to make another denim for fall right away. I highly recommend this pattern!

I loved this pattern, it is full of cute details, I had lots of fun making this dress and learnt lots of new skills. Highly recommend it, the dress is comfy and looks so put together!!

And now with sleeves! Classic, but trendy; can be sewed with all the bells and whistles or kept simple- great pattern and wonderful hand holding from a lovely company.

Love it! It´s a easy sewing pattern and fits lovely.

Sewing with a pattern that is so very carefully designed is such a treat! The sizing is spot on and the result is amazing. I shamelessly copied the black and white gingham style, because I know how well the fabric suits me. And I like to be able to wear dresses with a jacket, black leggings and boots too.
I will make another one in a crossweave linnen and I am going to topstitch that one with a thicker thread and cool metal buttons. I would be happy to pay for a pattern extension in the future and make another one with longer sleeves as well.
