Darling Ranges dress & blouse pattern

I bought this pattern through the Guthrie and Ghani sewing website, together with their fabric, and my dress is probably my favourite make of all time. The pattern is beautifully drafted, and I was able to make a couple of simple adjustments to fit me perfectly. I thoroughly recommend it.

I love this dress! It turned out to be just the kind of casual dress you need for the summer. The construction was easy. I used a serger to nicely finish all of the inside seams. As for sizing, my bust size called for a 12 pattern, and my hips 16! I cut the pattern for a 12 top and graded for the hips, adding 1.5 inches on each seam. In the end, I cut off all of the added extra fabric because it looked like a huge bag on me, so it is a true 12 for the entire dress. The design of the dress has ample fabric for my larger hips. I enjoy wearing this dress. It is a pleasure! Directions were very clear.

Love the pattern and how well it turned out! I’m a very very new sewer and I would say all the blog posts and instructions made things very manageable to be able to do - maybe even easy in hindsight. I highly recommend!
I made view A. Raised the neck line by 1 1/2 inches. Lengthened the bodice, but took the length off the skirt.

Step by step clear instruction, very easy to follow. simple beautiful top!

I used red fabric in pockets and binding. Still may put a red bow on back. I followed tutorial and put darts on the back bodice. Enjoyable make. ✅✅✅

It’s an easy made pattern. It took me around 4 hours to make. I find the instructions very clear. The dress fits well, I will definitely make more using another type of fabric.

I made a sleeveless version of view A in a lightweight chambray and it sewed together beautifully. The instructions are nicely illustrated, easy to follow and the neck binding/button placket was cleverly designed. It's a comfy summer dress on high rotation.

I like the dress very much on paper so bought the pattern. They only sew along I could find was not very clear on the neckline and in the end the dress was very big (and wide).

Well designed pattern, instructions were clear to follow and it wame together quickly. My only struggle was that I use a projector and while the A0 with layers was handy to project, the lines were difficult to see. Some projector specific PDFs have bolder lines for ease of cutting.

… but it turned out that this style wasn’t one that suited me! I really enjoyed the finish for the neckline. As I don’t have a serger, the recommended finishes on other seams were not as tidy as I’d like; if I ever make this again, I’d consider using bias tape on all the seams just to have a really neat finish.

Great dress with easy to follow instructions. It was my first time with sleeves, but the instructions and online sew along were really helpful. I feel confident making this dress again!

Cute dress, love all the options, and directions are easy to follow, especially if you use the Farmhouse on Boone video on YouTube. Still need to put the finishing touches on (buttons & hem) & then I’ll update with a photo!

Darling Ranges dress & blouse pattern

I really loved sewing this pattern. I made view A and just lengthened the sleeves. I elasticated the cuff at the wrist. Really easy to rack for as I like to wear with black tights and chunky boots.

I have made a few variations of this pattern and absolutely love it. This is definitely a tried and true pattern in my collection.

I have made view A and plan to make the other two views next. Easy to follow pattern and the sew along pictures on the blog are helpful to double-check you’re on track. Thanks for a beautiful pattern!

Lovely pattern

I am really happy with my new dress. Pattern is easy to make, instructions clear and straightforward. I had fun making it and love the fit. It is cute and incredibly comfy. If you are between sizes choosing the smaller one is a good idea since the fit is pretty loose. I can’t wait for springtime to get a bit warmer.

A wonderful pattern and very good sewing instructions lead to a perfect result.

It was great for a beginner, yet I felt proud I was able to do all the elements. I’ve been scared to make my own clothes for years and now I want to make everything.
