River dress & top pattern
Reversible raglan dress or top that can be made in woven or knit fabrics. Pattern features loose fit, optional pockets and waist tie, as well as top and dress options. It can be worn with the V neck or the round neck side at the front.
View A is a reversible knit dress. View B is a reversible woven dress with pockets and fabric belt. View C is a reversible knit top in modern crop length. View D is a reversible woven blouse in modern crop length.

Really love the way this pattern turned out! I am different sizes in the bust and hip so I always make a fitting muslin. I didn’t have any cotton muslin fabric but I did have two one yard scraps of silk dupioni. The “muslin” turned out so well that I’m going to wear it.
The instructions were thorough and there were variations if you wanted a different way to complete the step. The finish on the inset is beautiful enough to wear inside out! Excellent pattern -thanks!
So far I have made the top to check sizing before I use more expensive fabric. It is an easy sew with good instructions. I am looking forward to making and wearing my dress
I made version B, woven dress with belt and pockets. I used quilting cotton (it didn't turn out like I imagined, but that's okay). The dress was SUPER easy to make. Instructions were so freaking clear. I usually need a tutorial for other patterns and have to watch how to actually make something (I'm a struggler). Typical patterns take me a solid week or more to accomplish. This was TWO DAYS!
But this pattern was absolutely amazing! And turned out super cute, so I'll definitely be making another.
I loved sewing the River dress, it was my first time sewing for myself in over a decade, so I wanted to just do a practice run with some woven fabric I had in the cupboard. The pattern was so easy to follow, and I was really impressed with the fit. I made my normal dress size and didn’t feel the pattern needed any adjustments. So happy with my practice run dress, I will wear it and look forward to making it again in some more exciting fabric.
