Mini Cottesloe Swimsuit pattern

I purchased both the adult and mini version. When my granddaughter saw the fabric I had purchased for my suit she said “I’d wear that”! So I decided to test my first swimwear
Make on a smaller size! It was great! Now to make mine!

I made it for my grand daughter and she loves it.

This was such a quick make and OH SO GREAT. My daughter has been wanting a 2 piece but none of the swimsuits out there seem to work for her body (too big, too small, to weird on the butt…..we all know this calamity). She was so happy. I have posted pics on @sew_fuego on the gram. Thanks again for making her day!!!!! So special.

I made the two piece, high waisted version in size 5. It looks great, fits well, and I’m told it’s comfortable. Instructions were very easy to follow. I’ll be making this one again!

Fab pattern, easy to follow.
My 6yr old loves the 2 piece I made for her.

I struggled a bit to get my head round the size guide as my daughters measurements were falling into a really small age, I cut the top for an age 5, it looked too small so opted to just go for age 6. It fitted perfectly.

I opted for View C with a contrasting waistband.

Very easy to assemble from print out.

I really enjoyed sewing that high waist bikini for our daughter. Unfortunately it’s a little too tight. I mean … it fits … but it’s nearly impossible to get herself dressed without help.
We love it anyhow … next one will be the next size 🧡

I love this pattern. I have amazing “watermelon” fabric to make a pink top and green bottoms for my kids - and of course a matching one for me.

I struggled for a few days thinking through the crop top assemblage but then bit the bullet and followed the video instructions and it worked out extremely well. My customer said the crop top was a bit short for a 7 year old so I’ll add a couple of cm next time. I added a skirt to the shorts as it was for a transgender child. Forgot to take photos. It worked out fine and was a total success. Thank you.

I have really enjoyed sewing all variations of this pattern, the instruction are clear and the fit is great for kids! My daughters proportions never matched with bikinis or a one piece and now she has 4 great fitting swim suits! I am a intermediary sewer and struggled with a more complex sewing pattern prior to this, but this pattern was pretty straight forward.
