Matilda Curve Dress Pattern
Matilda is a modern utility style shirt dress - feminine and stylish, but with a distinctly utilitarian and tailored feel. It's the kind of dress you throw on when you really don't know what to wear, and feel perfectly put together immediately. Named after Matilda Bay, my favourite stretch of the Swan River in Perth, it features princess seams, yokes with fully enclosed seams, pleated breast pockets, an A-line skirt with roomy statement pockets, and a collar and stand - every detail thoughtfully designed so you can change it up and make it your own.

I've just made a wearable toile of the Matilda Curve dress. I usually have to do a tonne of adjustment to fit my 36HH and really round boobs (even on a Cashmerette g/h cup!) and I was pleasantly surprised how well it fitted straight off. I will need to do a few tweaks, but definitely will be easily done on this pattern. I love the yoked design and it came together really well. Definitely the best collar stand and collar I've ever sewn and definitely will be doing other shirts in the same way. The instructions are really clear, I never had any doubt about what I was supposed to be doing. To be honest, I usually look at instructions and then do the construction my own way, but these were so logical I just did as I was told and that's never happened before! 😄
This is my absolute favorite shirtdress. There are so many lovely details in this patterns and it's perfect for stripes, gingham, and prints as well as those lovely solids. I really appreciate how the back AND front (!) yokes give structure to the shoulders; I am never going to have to worry about losing shaping in the bodice thanks to all that support. The drafting on this pattern is really good and Meg has really taken the time to get things like the waistband perfectly fitted for curves. I've got several shirtdress patterns, even one from a "curvy" brand, but this one is hands down my favorite. Great work, Meg, and thanks!
Pattern fits me well. Lengthened just a little as I like longer skirts. I recommend this pattern!
This pattern is excellent! I normally struggle with patterns and needing a fba but I followed the size chart and it fits perfectly without any alterations! Can't wait to make more.

I like this pattern because it can look so different depending on the type of fabric used; although the pattern doesn’t have a long sleeve option, that can easily be achieved and can be worn during deep winter. I like the option of using the skirt part as a stand-alone pattern.
