Flint Curve pants and shorts pattern
Flint is a pair of wide leg cropped pants or shorts with a very unique crossover closure. The inspiration came from a vintage skirt with a closure I'd never seen before, and when my obsession with wide legged, high waisted pants hit an all time high, I knew it was the perfect way to use it. Flint sits on the natural waist, with a hidden closure at the left pocket that fastens with buttons or elegant ties, release tucks at the front, darts at the back and slash pockets. Not what I was expecting. I did not expect such a generous fit, it is far too loose s fit for me. Managed to download OK.
I really like this pattern - the unusual side closure is so cleverly designed and allows for a bit of leeway in the fit, which is handy for body fluctuation. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. Since buying the pattern a couple of weeks ago, I've made two pairs of shorts already and am excited to make some pants next!
I had been looking for wide legged trousers that would fit over my belly and hips without having to grade through 2 or 3 sizes from the waist and these are perfect! I cut a straight size and they fit really well! Only a couple of tweaks needed for my shape instead of grading between multiple sizes. They are some of my favorite trousers, I have made trousers and 3/4 length ones and will be making the shorts this week!
